Address Visibility

by Webmaster - October 14th, 2011

Every second counts when you’re waiting for a fire truck or ambulance. Please help police and firefighters find your home quickly: make sure your address numbers are easy to read.

Address numbers should be a minimum of 4 inches high with a minimum width of 0.5 inches. These numbers should contrast with their background and be easy to read. Be sure your address is visable from both directions of travel and not blocked by overgrowth. It is also recommended to have them lit, especially with our longer nights in the winter.

Eric O. gave a presentation at the annual meeting about creating your own 3-day emergency preparedness pack. Please refer to the PDF below for a list of items with pictures. Please note that this list is in order of most important to least, we recommend you start at the top and work your way as able. Also, there is a red box in the picture, this identifies the items that can be stored inside the water bottle for compactness and extra protection
